About The Position

Following our 2025 acquisition of Discover, we have a transformative journey ahead of us to both integrate the Discover Card business and catalyze innovation and growth. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate to lead the Finance team supporting Discover Card Customer Management activities along with other horizontal FP&A processes supporting the total Discover Card portfolio. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, the ability to build collaborative partnerships across a broad set of stakeholders and exceptional problem-solving abilities in undefined and complex situations. As a Sr. Manager, you will manage a small team to provide finance oversight and business support. Role responsibilities are likely to include developing the annual budget, revising financial projections throughout the year, producing monthly financial reports with corresponding variance explanations, investigating those variances and newly observed trends, performing deep consumer analytics to generate insights and providing input to the business to help business achieve critical objectives. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the Discover Card Business Leadership Team and key senior leaders across the Card Finance Team. A successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment amidst rapid change and growth, be a strategic thought partner and advisor with senior business leaders, generate ongoing analytical insights into business performance, the P&L and the consumer, develop and deliver insightful and influential senior management presentations, partner with business leadership to assess the financial implications of ongoing efforts to grow the organization, balance analytics and judgment, think beyond department objectives and influence corporate decision making, be a cultural beacon and attractor / developer of top talent, and challenge the status-quo and create well-managed sustainable processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a combination
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • At least 1 year of people management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 5+ years experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 1+ year of people management experience managing both direct and indirect reports
