About The Position

The Senior Manager, Finance will serve as a key finance partner supporting Walmart’s Supply Chain Network’s Automation & Product initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Centroid Strategy teams to help shape and execute the long-term automation strategy. You will provide financial insights, support investment decisions, and influence outcomes that drive the future of the Perishable Supply Chain. Our team drives Walmart’s Supply Chain Automation transformation by partnering across Engineering, Operations, and Product to enhance productivity and reduce costs. We operate at the intersection of strategy and execution—supporting large-scale capital investments, advancing automation capabilities, and driving data-informed decision-making within the Ambient, Perishable, and Fulfillment networks. Combining strong financial management with innovative, AI-enabled approaches, the team leads capital allocation, builds data-driven business cases, and ensures value from automation investments. The team plays a critical role in shaping how Walmart delivers fresh products to customers more efficiently and reliably.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or finance transformation within a large corporation or leading consulting firm.
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Corporate Real Estate, or Retail Operations within a large-scale retail or operations environment.
  • Strong experience partnering with stakeholders and influencing financial decisions.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and standardize financial modeling approaches.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.
  • 1 year’s experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
  • 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support investment decision-making through detailed financial analysis, scenario modeling, and risk assessment in partnership with engineering and business leaders.
  • Build and maintain financial models that incorporate key assumptions, expectations, and risks.
  • Prepare materials and contribute to presentations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support short- and long-term financial planning.
  • Help establish financial targets, identify risks, and provide insights to guide decision-making.
  • Contribute to alignment across teams on financial priorities and trade-offs.
  • Analyze automation and investment performance, identifying operational and financial variances versus plan.
  • Provide actionable insights on trends, risks, and opportunities, and help drive continuous improvement in outcomes.
  • Support team development by helping build a high-performing and engaged finance team.
  • Coach associates, contribute to capability building, and support talent development and succession planning efforts.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships to support business initiatives.
  • Promote financial acumen, support effective budget management, and contribute to the development and execution of business plans.
