As the Senior Manager, Facilities you will oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our manufacturing facility. Will have a strong background in facilities management within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with a proven track record of managing complex facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the reliability of equipment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in mechanical, chemical, or electrical disciplines.
  • MS degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs to inspect facilities and equipment.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to access or inspect machinery and equipment.
  • Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and chemical exposures typical of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to navigate production areas while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Occasional exposure to heights, confined spaces, or elevated platforms during facility inspections or maintenance oversight.
  • Role will be in Parsippany, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain robust, consistent, and fully documented compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), quality standards, and industry best practice requirements.
  • Oversee day to day operations of all company facilities and utility systems—including HVAC, chillers, boilers, purified water systems, clean utilities, qualified systems, and non qualified infrastructure—ensuring safe, efficient, reliable, and regulatory compliant performance.
  • Demonstrate a strong safety mindset with advanced working knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring critical equipment and facility assets remain in validated and optimal operating condition.
  • Monitor equipment performance and system reliability, using data driven methods to reduce unplanned downtime and support continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare, manage, and optimize the facilities operating and capital budgets, delivering cost effective solutions without compromising safety, compliance, or quality.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including GMP, OSHA, building codes, environmental regulations, and corporate standards.
  • Apply a proactive planning approach and leverage continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and asset lifecycle performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary facilities team, cultivating a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring adherence to performance expectations, safety requirements, service level agreements, and contractual terms.
  • Oversee facilities related capital and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and test facility emergency response and business continuity plans to ensure rapid, effective response to incidents impacting operations.
  • Lead cross functional decision making efforts using complex, incomplete, or ambiguous technical data, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and risk tolerance.
  • Assess organizational capabilities and recommend targeted technical training and development activities to strengthen team performance.
  • Provide timely, constructive performance feedback through regular informal coaching and support.
  • Formulate, communicate, and present technical solutions and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, leveraging deep subject matter knowledge to inform decisions.
  • Facilitate Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other risk assessments on process and facilities equipment to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

  • At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range.
  • The base salary range for this role is $111,133 to $206,389, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role.
  • The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location.
  • Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.
  • Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 15 paid holidays per year.
