About Network & Acquiring Solutions: As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to support every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. The American Express Network enables over $1.6 trillion in annual spend, serving our Issuers and Acquirers in more than 170 markets worldwide. We are driving a strategic, multi-year Enterprise Payments program to bring all payments together into a center of excellence to drive operational excellence for payment execution, enable innovative payment products, services, and capabilities to be built effectively and efficiently, support our BU strategies more closely, and deliver on our customers’ evolving payment needs. About the Role: The role of Senior Manager, Enterprise Payments Product Management is an exciting opportunity for a talented product manager to define the product strategy and roadmap to deliver a best-in-class enterprise payment service for American Express. The incumbent will be a central member of the Enterprise Payments COE that is tasked with driving an enterprise critical multi-year Multi-Rail Payments program established to (1) accelerate the development of our enterprise payment services and (2) redesign the operating model surrounding it to drive excellence in payment execution. This role will help to reshape and transform how payment products are built and delivered at American Express. The Manager, Enterprise Payments Product Management will collaborate closely with Business, Delivery, and Technology to define the product vision and roadmap for Enterprise Payments. This role will fall within our Pay Amex product team focused on the US market needs at a time of significant investment. The product manager will help to understand core customer needs and will play a pivotal role in building out a strong modernize core payment services improving customer outcomes, operations outcomes, and risk and control outcomes.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience: Experience in product management, product development, management consulting, and/or strategy. MBA preferred.
  • Passion for payments: Passion for emerging payments, FinTech’s, and the evolving payments landscape (e.g., real time payments, PSD2, APM’s, etc.). Knowledge of A2A money movement (ACH, wires, RTP, etc.) a plus.
  • Results-oriented: Passion to drive strategies to deliver results in a dynamic and highly matrixed environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity: High-intellectual curiosity, out-of-the-box, creative & critical thinker with experience in complex problem solving and strategic thought leadership.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Ability to mobilize and lead cross-functional team collaboration to achieve results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change.

Responsibilities

  • Help define the product vision and strategy for A2A / money movement products and services used across American Express.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify opportunities to further enhance the product value proposition.
  • Engage with and influence internal business stakeholders and partners to understand customer needs, flesh out use case details, collaborate on new/relevant product concepts, and co-develop solutions to deliver on Enterprise goals.
  • Understand evolving market regulations to inform the product strategy and ultimately achieve business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing payment capabilities to deliver value for new use cases or new markets.
  • Leverage external industry data and internal product metrics to inform product strategies.
  • Deliver go to market strategy including the operationalization plans, the commercialization strategy, articulation of the value proposition, and ongoing metrics to measure benefits realized.
  • Own, update, and prioritize the product roadmap including new capabilities, features, services, expanded markets, product integrations, decommission of products, etc.
  • Develop robust business cases to support prioritization of roadmap items.
  • Collaborate with Product owners to align on product roadmap including new product features and enhanced services, as required to deliver on the overarching strategy.
  • Define capabilities for new payment products and services, identify/prioritize use cases, and design “minimum viable product” features and user stories to ensure a focus on delivering maximum value.
