About The Position

The Senior Engineering Manager will serve as the strategic and operational leader of the engineering function within our aerospace ceramic core manufacturing plant. This role oversees multiple engineering disciplines-including Process Engineering, Advanced Technology, Product Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and other specialized engineering teams-ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational excellence, and innovation in aerospace manufacturing. The Senior Engineering Manager reports directly to the Plant Director and plays a critical role in driving technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering discipline (Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, or related field); Master's preferred.
  • 6+ years of leadership experience in aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of ceramic core manufacturing processes, materials science, and aerospace industry requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to all engineering managers (Process, Advanced Technology, Product, Facilities, and others).
  • Develop and mentor engineering leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Align engineering priorities with plant and corporate objectives, ensuring resources are effectively allocated.
  • Oversee process engineering to ensure manufacturing efficiency, yield improvement, and defect reduction.
  • Drive product engineering initiatives to support new product introduction, design for manufacturability, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure facilities engineering maintains plant infrastructure, utilities, and equipment reliability to support production demands.
  • Champion advanced technology projects, including automation, digitalization, and new material/process development.
  • Lead long-term technology roadmaps for ceramic core manufacturing, ensuring competitiveness in aerospace markets.
  • Collaborate with R&D and corporate engineering teams to integrate advanced materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and implement scalable solutions to enhance productivity and product performance.
  • Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and EH&S teams to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support customer and supplier technical engagements, providing engineering expertise and leadership.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering teams and executive leadership, translating technical insights into business impact.
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies across engineering functions.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and internal quality systems.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives in energy usage, waste reduction, and environmental compliance.
