As a leader, you will guide a hard-working full-stack team focused on backend and frontend engineering to power key platform capabilities for Buyer Experience. You'll play a pivotal role in projects that drive functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability, supported by empathetic people leadership that encourages deep understanding of products and services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading or managing a small to medium-sized team of software developers.
  • Expertise in building large-scale, distributed systems that prioritize high availability, scalability, and resilience.
  • An approach committed to achieving consistent, high-velocity delivery.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex thoughts and proposals clearly.
  • Experience working effectively within Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong capacity for quickly grasping new technical domains and adapting to evolving requirements.
  • 10+ years of overall work experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the e-commerce domain is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a dedicated, full-stack team comprising backend and frontend engineers, providing tailored, empathetic professional development guidance.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
  • Drive accountability for the team's work and ensure the shipment of high-quality software.
  • Establish and maintain a prioritized, healthy product backlog in alignment with strategic team objectives.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business units, and analytics teams to define, brainstorm, and scale the next generation of our shipping products.
  • Define the technical vision for the team, championing best practices and innovation.
  • Raise the technical bar by solving complex challenges related to large-scale performance and system reliability.
  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term strategic goals to quickly ship high-impact products.
  • Effectively partner with and influence peers and senior leadership across the entire eBay organization.
