About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Earthmoving Center of Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in our company’s success by overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and growth of our earthmoving and heavy compaction business. You’ll lead a team of professionals, manage operations, and drive revenue while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction in North America.What you will do...Strategic Leadership:Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the earthmoving business, setting goals, and executing on annual performance. Lead the company’s total earthmoving category to deliver dollar utilization above the company’s average.Identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.Collaborate with senior management to align rental services with overall company goals.Contribute to the annual fleet planning and disposal process and strategy as well as ad hoc fleet management. Team Management:Lead and inspire a team of managers, coordinators, and technicians.Foster a positive work environment, encourage professional development, and ensure team cohesion.Set performance goals, track metrics, and provide regular feedback.Align with field leadership on local strategies and talent development. Operations and Logistics:Oversee equipment inventory, maintenance, and logistics.Optimize fleet utilization and minimize downtime.Customer Relations:Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain high customer satisfaction.Collaborate with the national and local sales team to identify opportunities.Identify trade show and marketing opportunities to grow Herc’s brand position and revenue. Financial Management:Partner with Financial Operations and Field Team to develop and manage the business budget, pricing strategies, and revenue targets to exceed industry performance.Monitor financial performance, analyze profitability, and implement cost-saving measures.Prepare regular reports for senior management. Safety and Compliance:Uphold safety standards and compliance with regulations.Ensure proper training for equipment operators.Maintain accurate records related to safety inspections and certifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in equipment rental, construction, or related industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with earthmoving equipment, safety protocols, and industry best practices.

  • Experience with earthmoving industry products is a plus.
