About The Position

QXO is the fastest growing publicly traded distributor of building products in North America, aiming to become a tech-enabled leader in the $800 billion building products distribution industry and achieve $50 billion in annual revenues within the next decade. The company is seeking a Senior Manager for Direct Procurement who is a strong relationship builder, confident in product and analytical knowledge, and comfortable collaborating across the organization, with customers, and suppliers. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for the Complementary line of business, focusing on exterior categories (e.g., Siding, Windows, PVC trim, Composite Decking, House Wrap, etc.) in the Western U.S. and Canada. The Senior Manager will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing sales solutions, closing sales, negotiating pricing, forecasting replenishment needs, and providing excellent internal and external customer service.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree
  • Self-motivated, high energy, persistent, and sense of urgency
  • Proven track record of sales success - ability to drive growth as well as maintain a large book of business.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving - must be creative and innovative.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work cross functionally.
  • Superior Interpersonal skills - proficient in both written and verbal communications
  • Working knowledge of assigned product line, customer support/service, and inventory management.
  • Possesses well developed consultative selling skills, and confidence in negotiation win/win outcomes.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and digital sales platforms

  • Equivalent industry experience preferred (in lieu of bachelor's degree)
  • Experience with private label programs

Responsibilities

  • Identify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers for assigned products.
  • Improve profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turn with all customers for assigned products.
  • Ensure effective product performance and promote good customer and supplier relations.
  • Assist all customers with sales and technical support for assigned products. Also, resolving all customer service issues related to assigned products.
  • Communicate value proposition to customers. Propose sales solutions to customers and reevaluate solutions.
  • Promote existing products, as well as present new product opportunities to drive sales and profits.
  • Develop and build relationships with internal business units including branches, replenishment/supply chain team, product management, and Branch Sales and Operations teams.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients that will provide opportunities to grow sales and solidify QXO’s partnership for long-term profitability.
  • Analyze and monitor sales and profitability; collaborate with sales and pricing teams to develop sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies for assigned products that balance the value delivered to customers in and market conditions to maximize revenue
  • Collaborate with sales teams to enhance product/solution conversion rates, capitalize on cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Partner with sales, category management, sales enablement, and marketing to ensure that revenue strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct continuous market research to keep abreast of trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities that may influence revenue.
  • Gather and analyze customer insights to tailor strategies that boost satisfaction, retention, and engagement, while also driving the development of new products and solutions.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks to inventory or revenue targets, crafting effective mitigation strategies.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in revenue generation practices to ensure sustained growth.
  • Clearly articulate revenue strategies, goals, and outcomes to key stakeholders within the organization, ensuring transparency and alignment
