The Senior Manager, Digital Strategy & Marketing Technology leads the firm’s digital marketing strategy, thought leadership distribution, and marketing technology ecosystem to strengthen the firm’s brand visibility, client engagement, and market positioning. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, this role partners closely with practice leadership, communications, and business development professionals to develop integrated digital marketing initiatives that amplify the firm’s thought leadership and support strategic growth priorities. The role also advances the firm’s digital innovation initiatives, including the responsible adoption of AI-enabled marketing tools, marketing automation platforms, and data-driven campaign strategies that improve marketing efficiency and expand the reach of the firm’s insights across key audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field required.
  • 7–10 years of digital marketing, communications, or content strategy experience within a professional services environment; law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing integrated digital marketing programs including website platforms, social media, email marketing, and thought leadership distribution.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology platforms including RubyLaw, Nexl CRM, Passle, Sprout Social, and legal publishing platforms such as Mondaq and JD Supra.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate marketing data into strategic insights.
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and firm leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the firm’s digital marketing strategy across website, social media, email marketing, and thought leadership channels.
  • Partner with practice groups and business development teams to design integrated campaigns promoting key practices, industries, and client initiatives.
  • Collaborate with communications to manage the firm’s editorial calendar and oversee development of digital content including client alerts, blog posts, webinars, and other media-based content.
  • Oversee distribution and amplification of thought leadership through Passle, Mondaq, and JD Supra.
  • Manage the firm’s social media strategy and publishing workflows using enterprise platforms such as Sprout Social.
  • Collaborate with PR and external communications partners to coordinate digital promotion of firm announcements and media placements.
  • Ensure brand consistency and editorial quality across all digital communications.
  • Monitor digital engagement trends, sentiment, and peer firm activity to strengthen the firm’s competitive positioning.
  • Serve as a key steward of the firm’s marketing technology ecosystem and digital communications infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize platforms including the RubyLaw website platform, Nexl CRM, Passle, Sprout Social, email marketing systems, Mondaq, and JD Supra.
  • Partner with IT and external vendors to ensure integration across website, CRM, analytics, and marketing automation tools.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools and automation platforms to improve marketing workflows, campaign execution, and content production.
  • Develop and implement structured content and schema markup strategies for the firm’s website and thought leadership content to improve search engine indexing, enhance rich search results, and support discoverability in AI-driven search environments.
  • Evaluate emerging marketing technologies that enhance digital engagement, analytics capabilities, and client development initiatives.
  • Develop reporting frameworks to track performance across website, email marketing, social media, and legal publishing platforms.
  • Analyze engagement data to refine digital marketing strategies and optimize campaign performance.
  • Provide leadership with insights on audience engagement, campaign effectiveness, and digital growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and strengthen the firm’s digital authority and citation footprint across search engines, legal publishing platforms, and emerging AI knowledge systems by optimizing distribution channels, backlinks, and third-party content syndication.
