About The Position

This isn't just a design management role-it's about leading the spark behind SharkNinja's next generation of iconic products. You will be a creative catalyst shaping what's next, helping teams turn blue-sky thinking into tangible, consumer-loved innovations that define categories. Your team will shape the early concept architecture that eventually fuels mass production through our NPD (New Product Development) pipeline. The ideal candidate is a designer at heart, with engineering and design credentials, a natural flair for storytelling, and a relentless passion for solving consumer problems in inventive, inspiring ways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in product development, with at least 3 years in a management role, ideally in a high-volume consumer goods environment.
  • Consumer-obsessed mindset with a proven ability to develop products that influence behavior, exceed expectations, and set new standards in the market.
  • Strong consumer intuition and market awareness, with the ability to anticipate user needs and identify commercially viable opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to pitch ideas and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for hands-on development, technical problem-solving, and pushing boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex global initiatives on time and within budget, navigating diverse stakeholder needs and evolving project landscapes.
  • Experience using SolidWorks or Creo, KeyShot, and Adobe Suite

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of early-stage concepts, design storytelling, and early platform exploration across multiple product categories.
  • Use design storytelling to pitch future-focused concepts in a way that connects emotionally and drives alignment across the business.
  • Partner with Mechanical Engineering, R&D, Product Development, and Product Marketing to ensure early concepts are rooted in a strong, scalable product strategy.
  • Integrate knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods (e.g., plastic injection molding, die casting, sheet metal), and DFM/DFA to ensure ideas are not just exciting but achievable.
  • Inspire and lead a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and excellence.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Advanced Development pipeline, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
