Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Senior Manager, Customer Insights is responsible for market analytics and managing primary and secondary market research within Global Strategic Insights (GSI) in support of the Robotic Surgery Platforms. The position will serve as a representative on the Business Unit Insight team, serving as a key partner for Global Strategic Marketing. Role will require a high degree of business acumen and understanding; must be able to proactively recommend tools and techniques to support primary market research, secondary market sources, and marketplace understanding needs across the business. Position will have responsibility for managing, prioritizing, and executing strategic and tactical marketplace insight projects and activities.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics, or related field is required; MBA or MS or other advanced degree is preferred
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in primary market research, secondary market research, forecasting, strategic insights, business analytics, or a related field is required
  • Experience in the medical device, medical technology, hospital specialty, or healthcare field is required
  • Knowledge and experience designing and completing primary marketing research, including questionnaire design, methodology selection, and learning plan development is required
  • Experience in end-to-end vendor and project management, including drafting RFPs, evaluating proposals, negotiating scope, managing timelines and budgets, and overseeing data quality
  • Experience in holistic strategy execution, seeing the big picture, integrating market, competitive, and primary research data into clear direction, driving multi-disciplinary alignment through influence is required
  • Thorough working knowledge and experience with forecasting market performance and/or product/services revenue for up to a minimum of three years into the future is required; Excel proficiency is required
  • Proven track record of working in a matrix environment where a high degree of collaboration is required
  • Due to the nature of information reviewed in the role, candidate must be able to demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and WORD are required
  • May require up to 20% travel (domestic and international)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in surgical robotics or hospital capital equipment is preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with secondary market research tools (eg DRG, Premier, Health Verity, Provider databases) and techniques is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an ability to manage, create, influence, and implement high-impact tactical and strategic marketplace understanding and learning plans. This includes primary and secondary research as well as forecasting.
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence multiple collaborators, including senior management to ensure a data driven, insight approach to key business decisions and maximum impact thereof
  • Support platform business partners in: New Product opportunities through development and execution of learning plans, including needs identification, opportunity assessment, and forecasting.
  • Lead the design and execution of comprehensive market research initiatives to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, customer behaviors, and competitive landscapes, providing strategic insights that inform key business decisions.
  • Use modeling techniques to develop robust forecasting models, incorporating market dynamics, economic indicators, and internal data sources to enhance accuracy and reliability of sales and revenue projections for new product launches, market and share reporting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Proactively complete and deliver fact-based insights and analytics programs to address priority business needs and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business partners globally to develop long term plans grounded in market dynamics and customer insights to accelerate business growth and competitiveness.
  • Flawless execution of all insight & forecasting activities.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing and refining processes, fostering innovation, and encouraging cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that all team initiatives are optimized for efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
