About The Position

Amazon’s Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team ensures that our global fulfillment and operations networks run safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. We are seeking a Senior Program Manager, Leadership Development to design and scale programs that strengthen leadership capability across our technical, engineering, and maintenance workforce—including Technicians, Maintenance Managers, Controls Engineers, and RME Leaders. In this role, you will build mechanisms that accelerate leader readiness, reinforce operational and safety excellence, and develop talent pipelines across a global, 24/7 operations environment. You will partner with RME leaders, HR, Operations, and cross-functional L&D teams to deliver solutions that help our leaders deliver uptime, quality, safety, and customer obsession at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of team management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related fields
  • 7+ years of experience in program management, leadership development, organizational development, or similar fields.
  • Experience working in technical, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance-related environments.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs across multiple sites/regions.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to Dive Deep into performance and operational metrics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with technical and field leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Engineering Management, MBA, I/O Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience in Reliability, Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, or Production environments.
  • Understanding of maintenance, reliability, and engineering concepts (e.g., CMMS, TPM, RCA, risk mitigation, safety systems).
  • Experience designing leadership development for technical or field-based employees.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Coaching or facilitation experience with technical or engineering leaders.
  • Global program management experience in high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the strategy for leadership development across RME, with a focus on technical leaders, maintenance managers, and engineering leadership pipelines.
  • Assess organizational capability needs related to safety culture, technical leadership, problem-solving, root cause analysis (RCA), and operational excellence.
  • Design blended learning journeys (e.g., workshops, simulations, virtual learning, coaching mechanisms, hands-on labs) tailored to engineering and maintenance environments.
  • Lead end-to-end development and deployment of global RME leadership programs, from concept through evaluation.
  • Drive scalable onboarding, skill-building, and succession development programs for RME leaders at multiple levels.
  • Collaborate closely with field teams, Technical Training, Ops Engineering, and Worldwide Learning teams to ensure programs meet real-world operational needs.
  • Operationalize programs with strong mechanisms, documentation, and continuous improvement loops.
  • Partner with RME Directors, Senior Managers, HR Business Partners, and Site Leaders across regions to identify gaps and align development strategies.
  • Facilitate conversations with technical experts, engineering leaders, and safety teams to ensure program relevance.
  • Manage vendor partners when needed to build or deliver specialized technical/leadership curriculum.
  • Build measurement mechanisms to track program adoption, leader readiness, safety outcomes, and performance improvements.
  • Dive Deep into data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Iterate on curricula using feedback from learners, site audits, and operational performance metrics (e.g., equipment downtime, PM completion, safety indicators).
  • Introduce new learning technologies and methods that resonate with a technical and field-based audience.
  • Develop immersive learning experiences (e.g., troubleshooting case studies, scenario-based simulations, AR/VR prototypes where applicable).
  • Drive mechanisms that support scalable leadership development in a high-variability, global operations network
