Position Summary The Senior Manager, Content Strategy will oversee and advance the firm’s content across its marketing materials, website and social media platforms (with a focus on LinkedIn). This position is responsible for ensuring that the firm’s digital presence clearly and consistently reflects its priorities, expertise and institutional voice. This individual will partner with teams across the firm and with partners to ensure coordinated, high-quality content that supports the firm’s business development and communications objectives and upholds the Davis Polk brand.

Requirements

  • Exemplary writing, editing and proofreading skills with very strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment, and comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Ability to understand complex information and translate it into accessible copy for digital audiences.
  • Ability to create and edit compelling, on-brand copy for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to capture appropriate tone and voice for a variety of audiences/outlets.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • A minimum of 8 years of content strategy or digital communications experience, preferably at a law firm or other professional services firm.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex website content and social media strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Business Development and across departments to develop compelling client- and public-facing content.
  • Write and edit content for a variety of Business Development projects, including client updates, brochures and other creative work.
  • Develop content across the firm’s website, including practice descriptions, careers content and lawyer bios.
  • External website governance, including monitoring for compliance with page design standards and conducting periodic reviews and updates of standing content.
  • Provide strategic guidance to inform content priorities, including resourcing across platforms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Business Development to periodically review and refresh the experience highlights featured on all the practice, industry and region pages of the external website.
  • Ensure that the website’s practice, industry and region pages surface the appropriate work experience through tagging review.
  • Maintain a tagging guide for the department.
  • Edit announcements of the firm’s work for internal and external distribution in a fast-paced daily review process with Business Development colleagues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in PR & Communications and across Business Development to promote client updates, publications, news and firm initiatives through digital channels.
  • Lead the firm’s social media content strategy, with a focus on LinkedIn as a key platform for thought leadership, firm news and partner visibility.
  • Develop and manage editorial calendars aligned with firm priorities.
  • Provide guidance to lawyers on content creation, profile optimization and engagement strategies.
  • Ensure social media content reflects the firm’s voice, values and risk management standards.
  • Monitor trends, platform changes and competitor activity to inform strategy.
  • Maintain the firm’s editorial style guide and ensure firm standards are met.
  • Consult on attorney advertising rules and ensure compliance with various marketing restrictions.
  • Proofread various content
  • Manage and mentor two team members (one Content, one Social Media).
