About The Position

The Senior Manager, Consulting Services (SMCS) has responsibility for leadership, management, and coaching of Consulting Operations resources as well as fulfilling billable project work. They play a key role in the performance of Mosaic resources with direct report and professional development responsibility. The SMCS oversees a team of senior Consulting Operations resources including Manager, Senior Consultant, Senior Project Manager, Project Manager. The SMCS works closely with the COVP (Consulting Ops Vice President), Project Managers, and Senior Manager, Client Delivery (SMCD) to support the company and department culture, provide timely feedback, and support the professional development efforts of team members. The SMCS provides ongoing employee support through goal setting and tracking, performance reviews, and 360 feedback. The SMCS plays a key role in supporting the COVP by participating in the hiring process, onboarding, and coaching a diverse group of Mosaic resources.

Requirements

  • Advanced consulting experience with a solid understanding of instructional design and learning principles.
  • Proven ability to successfully provide people management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Project, and Visio; familiar with web and course authoring tools.
  • Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills, including team building, negotiation, active listening skills, and an ability to deliver difficult messages and feedback.
  • Strong analytical, teaming, communication, written , problem-solving, negotiating, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to navigate and resolve conflict among resources.
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills, with the ability to quickly analyze needs and potential solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education , Instructional Design, Communications, English, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • Utility industry experience a plus
  • MBA or related advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Resource Planning Work in partnership with People Operations, COVP and Consulting Operations Leadership to interview, select, and on-board new hires.
  • Responsible for escalating resource issues and risks to appropriate Mosaic leadership.
  • Partner with COVP, Senior Manager, Client Delivery, Managers, Consulting Operations, and Project Leads regarding resourcing needs.
  • Provide leadership in partnership with the COVP and SMCD.
  • Partner with Consulting Operations Managers and Project Leads to provide specific and timely feedback to support individual professional development.
  • Responsible for informal and formal coaching, performance management, and employee recognition for direct reports as well as project resources.
  • Provide direct oversight to senior resources to ensure they have the right tools and support to successfully perform their management and project responsibilities.
  • Active participation in the Centers of Excellence.
  • Participation in consulting operations and company-wide meetings and presentations.
  • Responsible for adherence to corporate policy, project quality, and deliverables.
  • Maintains a clear line of site to the Consulting Ops Manager team and employee performance.
  • Provide project guidance in accordance with the governance process outlined in Mosaic's data retention policy.
  • Partner in developing strategies to improve quality and productivity.
  • Review and approve time and expense reports as appropriate ensuring resources are achieving billable hours goals and adhering to time off guidelines.
  • Manage bench time by coordinating with Mosaic leadership on other project assignments.
  • Participate in employment decisions if other project assignments are not workable or available.
