About The Position

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Title: Senior Manager, Commercial Procurement (Marketing, Market Research, Media, Medical Affairs) Department: Finance Role Summary The Senior Manager, Commercial Procurement is a hands-on role responsible for executing and supporting procurement activities across marketing-related categories, including media, agencies, patient support services, commercial data & analytics, and medical affairs in both the US and International. This position partners closely with Marketing and Medical Affairs, Finance, and Legal to drive sourcing initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and ensure commercial rigor across contracts and spend. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented procurement professional with strong experience in marketing categories who enjoys working in the data, supporting negotiations, reviewing SOWs, and ensuring procurement processes run smoothly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, with hands-on experience in marketing procurement (media, creative services, agencies, events).
  • Experience supporting RFPs, reviewing SOWs, and negotiating marketing-related contracts.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with rate card reviews, benchmarking, and pricing analysis.
  • High attention to detail and sound commercial judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, concise communicator able to work effectively with Marketing, Finance, and Legal partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with procurement or contract management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end sourcing activities for marketing categories, including RFP development, bid evaluation, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
  • Assist with execution of category strategies for marketing-related spend, ensuring alignment with business priorities and budgets.
  • Manage day-to-day procurement requests from Business, providing timely, practical, and business-focused support.
  • Conduct detailed rate card analysis and benchmarking across marketing suppliers to identify pricing inconsistencies, cost efficiencies, and areas of opportunity.
  • Analyze scope, usage patterns, and fee structures to support negotiations and value-creation initiatives.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations to improve commercial terms, pricing transparency, and overall ROI.
  • Lead and/or Support negotiations and execution for marketing contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, rate cards, media agreements, and amendments.
  • Partner with Legal to review and finalize contracts, ensuring appropriate commercial terms and risk mitigation.
  • Track contract terms, renewals, and obligations to ensure compliance and continuity.
  • Support budget tracking and spend analysis for marketing and medical affairs categories.
  • Identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities through benchmarking, rate reviews, and scope optimization.
  • Develop and maintain basic KPIs and reporting related to savings, cycle times, and supplier performance.
  • Follow established procurement policies and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support training and enablement of business partners on procurement policies, procedures, and sourcing processes.
  • Support enhancements to procurement tools, templates, and workflows related to marketing procurement.
  • Stay current on marketing procurement trends, agency models, and sourcing best practices.
