About The Position

The Senior Manager, Business Insights & Strategy will help build Tubulis’ enterprise strategy and insights capability, turning competitive intelligence, market context, and external signals into decision-ready frameworks and recommendations that shape business development, portfolio, and program strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, this role will function as an internal strategy and analytics partner to Clinical Development, R&D, and Commercial, translating external intelligence into clear implications, options and recommendations. In this pre-commercial stage, you will build frameworks and capabilities that guide portfolio choices, resource allocation, and business development strategy (e.g., which assets to in-license, how to position programs for out-licensing). This is an opportunity to shape strategic direction at a clinical-stage biotech with direct exposure to executive leadership and Board-level decision-making, while partnering closely with Business Development to inform in-licensing priorities and deal strategy. This position can be based in Boston, MA or remotely in MA, PA, NY, RI, NJ, NC, MD or FL.

  • Oncology Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of oncology drug development with understanding of cancer biology, clinical trials, treatment paradigms, and competitive landscapes
  • Biotech Experience: Prior experience in clinical-stage biotechnology or organizations with active business development functions preferred
  • Core Skills Exceptional synthesis and communication skills: ability to produce executive-ready PowerPoint and 1–2 page memos under tight timelines.

  • Working knowledge of statistical programming (Python, R, SQL) or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with pharmaceutical competitive intelligence platforms (Evaluate Pharma, Cortellis, GlobalData, Citeline) or clinical trial databases (ClinicalTrials.gov, regulatory submissions)
  • Knowledge of pharma data sources (e.g, IQVIA Oncology Analytics Platform, Komodo Health, Flatiron, or specialty pharmacy datasets) for market sizing
  • Experience designing and executing primary research (expert interviews, advisory boards) and secondary research (literature reviews, competitive assessments)
  • Experience supporting transactions and diligence (internal coordination, workstream management, precedent reviews, partner mapping).

  • Conduct holistic asset assessments evaluating strategic fit with Tubulis platforms, operational feasibility, commercial potential, competitive differentiation, and regulatory pathway
  • Build comprehensive business cases for licensing opportunities including market sizing, epidemiology-based patient population forecasts, competitive scenario analysis, revenue projections, and PTRS (probability of technical and regulatory success) calculations in collaboration with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders where appropriate
  • Support active BD execution by preparing partner/meeting briefs, partner mapping, diligence workplans, and decision memos for internal governance (Exec/Board)
  • Develop and maintain precedent/deal-comps summaries (terms, structures, and strategic rationale)

  • Identify emerging trends in ADC technologies (novel payloads, linker chemistries, biomarker strategies, combination approaches) that may impact Tubulis' competitive positioning
  • Generate regular competitive intelligence reports and landscape updates for BD leadership, executives, and Board of Directors (e.g., monthly digest + rapid response briefs within 24–72 hours after major external signals)
  • Own and continuously improve Tubulis’ competitive insights infrastructure, maintaining living dashboards/tables/templates that track competitor programs, readouts, and assumptions
  • Clinical Development & R&D Strategic Support
  • Provide competitive context and market intelligence to inform Clinical Development trial design, endpoint selection, patient population definition, and indication prioritization (including treatment sequencing and SoC evolution)
  • Conduct indication prioritization analyses across a broad set of tumor types (with deep dives on priority indications), assessing scientific rationale, development feasibility, unmet needs, competitive intensity, and commercial potential
  • Support R&D portfolio optimization by providing market-driven insights on platform prioritization, target selection, and payload approaches with greatest commercial potential
  • Develop repeatable executive-ready outputs (1–2 page decision memos, competitor benchmark tables/scorecards, TPP and differentiation frameworks) used across Clinical Development, BD, and Commercial Functions
