About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Senior Manager, Program Design Strategy to help shape the future of our perishable supply chain network. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of strategy, automation design, facility design, finance, and advanced analytics, with direct influence on how Walmart plans and earns approval for major capital investments across the network. In this role, you will do far more than analyze data. You will turn complex operational, financial, and design inputs into clear, decision-ready recommendations that influence senior leaders and help define the roadmap for a multi-billion-dollar supply chain transformation. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams across network strategy, finance, and automation design, building the business cases, cost models, and transformation scenarios that guide how Walmart’s automated perishable network evolves. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on combining large-scale data analysis, financial modeling, executive storytelling, and automation strategy to drive meaningful business decisions. What you'll do... What You’ll Do In your first 12 months, your success will be defined by the business outcomes you help create, including: Build and refine the standardized design cost models and assumptions used across transformation planning and business case development for future perishable supply chain investments. Lead the development of decision-ready business cases that translate operational data, design inputs, and financial assumptions into clear recommendations for executive leaders. Shape the finance and roadmap strategy for supply chain transformation by creating scenarios, testing assumptions, and helping leaders evaluate tradeoffs across network design, capacity, cost, and service. Support the development of annual operating plans and long term capital forecasting for executive level finance mechanisms. Build the initial concept sizing and design requirement datasets for new projects, helping establish early perspectives on throughput, storage, cost, and overall business value. Partner across strategy, finance, automation design, and direct design teams to connect technical design choices with long-term business and capital planning decisions. Use large datasets, mathematical models, and emerging analytics approaches, including AI-enabled analytics where appropriate, to improve the quality and speed of strategic decision-making. Create compelling presentations and executive materials that convert dense analyses into concise, persuasive narratives for SVP- and EVP-level audiences. Travel to both automated and non-automated distribution sites to understand operational realities and incorporate those learnings into future-state network strategies. Begin by learning Walmart’s network, operations, and transformation priorities in your first 30 days; establish strong cross-functional partnerships and apply field insights to modeling and strategy by 60 days; and by 90 days, start owning major projects, analytics, and financial models that influence future investment decisions.
