About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Manager, ASIC Development Engineering to lead an SOC development team in Irvine, United States. In this strategic role, you will manage high-performing engineering teams, and drive innovation in hardware design. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with decisive leadership, ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge semiconductor solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience in engineering environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RTL design, design verification, and simulation methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of EDA tools and design automation platforms
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDL) such as Verilog or VHDL
  • Excellent project management skills with proven ability to deliver complex projects on schedule
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing P&L and technical budgets

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced semiconductor design methodologies and design standards
  • Knowledge of power analysis, timing closure, and physical design considerations
  • Familiarity with agile or lean development practices in hardware engineering
  • Background in risk management and strategic planning

  • Track record of successfully building and scaling high-performing engineering teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of ASIC design engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into actionable design specifications and development strategies
  • Oversee design verification, validation, and testing processes to ensure products meet performance, power, and area specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance to align engineering efforts with business objectives
  • Establish and enforce design methodologies, standards, and best practices across the engineering organization
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
  • Drive process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance design efficiency and product quality
  • Manage resource allocation and technical budgets while optimizing team productivity
  • Communicate project status, technical challenges, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in semiconductor design
