Your Role at Baxter We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Senior Manager of Indirect Tax to lead all indirect tax matters across the Americas region, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and other Latin American countries. This role oversees compliance, audit defense, planning, and process improvement initiatives across sales & use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a collaborative, forward-thinking approach to drive transformation and ensure operational excellence. This high-impact role covers a broad regional scope. You will be responsible for the entire indirect tax lifecycle. This includes compliance oversight, audit defense, process redesign, data integrity, and long-term planning. The team is looking for someone who can modernize how indirect tax operates, reduce cash leakage, strengthen controls, and build a more connected, technology‑enabled tax environment. Baxter is actively leaning into automation, analytics, and emerging tools like GenAI, and this role is designed for someone who wants to use technology to simplify complexity, streamline workflows, and shift the team toward higher‑value work. You’ll also join a tax organization led by a hiring manager with nearly two decades of experience at a Big 4 firm. This manager understands both the technical rigor and the business partnership approach needed to succeed. The role is inherently cross‑functional—you’ll work closely with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and commercial teams to influence decisions upstream and ensure tax is embedded in how the business operates. You’ll lead and develop a small team of analysts while collaborating with long‑standing external partners, giving you both managerial responsibility and broad visibility across the enterprise.
