About The Position

The Senior Manager, Acne Clinic is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management, performance, and profitability of the acne clinic. This role directly oversees clinic staff including licensed estheticians and operational staff insuring exceptional client experience and clinical standards partnering closely with the Senior Director on strategy, growth initiatives, and financial performance. The Senior Manager holds shared accountability for clinic success, including operational execution, team development, and profit-and-loss performance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance clinical excellence, people leadership, and business acumen in a fast-paced, client-centric environment. The Senior Manager ensures the clinic operates as a treatment center, learning hub, innovation lab, and brand showroom, consistently aligning with Face Reality’s high standards for acne expertise, education, and service excellence.This position will work onsite at our San Ramon clinic. (Must be available to work evenings and weekends). Our Clinic is open Tuesday – Sunday (Tuesdays – 10am-6pm, Wednesdays & Thursdays 9:30am-8pm, Fridays & Saturdays- 9:30am-6pm) This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in professional skincare, day spa, medspa, or medical aesthetics environments
  • 4+ years in multi-team leadership and clinic or spa operations management
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience, including licensed or clinical staff
  • Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to P&L performance
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership on strategy and growth initiatives
  • Strong background in acne treatment solutions and advanced modalities
  • Experience in revenue-driving leadership roles (e.g., Spa Manager, Clinic/Practice Manager, Director-level roles)
  • Experience in education-based or training-intensive environments
  • Familiarity with holistic and integrative approaches to skin health
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to move around the office including stooping, crouching, and/or kneeling to troubleshoot issues
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Comfortable lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials
  • Comfortable using a computer, keyboard, and mouse

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required
  • MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Licensed Esthetician preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence & Clinic Management: Lead all day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and brand-aligned systems
  • Own scheduling, booking optimization, client flow, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, sanitation, HIPAA-aligned practices, and state board standards
  • Oversee inventory, backbar, supplies, vendor coordination, and equipment readiness
  • Maintain immaculate facility presentation, ambiance, and retail merchandising consistent with luxury spa expectations
  • Manage clinic reporting, operational dashboards, and weekly/monthly performance reviews
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for client service issues, treatment concerns, and operational challenges
  • People Leadership, Development & Culture: Directly manage Education Program Manager (with dotted-line partnership to Senior Director of Education & Clinic), Clinic Acne Experts, front desk/concierge staff, and operational support roles
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning
  • Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct formal performance evaluations
  • Foster a high-performance, client-focused, hospitality-driven culture rooted in clinical excellence
  • Address employee relations matters in partnership with HR, ensuring professionalism and compliance
  • Provide coaching, accountability frameworks, and professional growth pathways for team members
  • Client Experience & Clinical Excellence: Lead the Face Reality Acne Clinic in San Ramon as a flagship treatment, training, and research hub
  • Champion a spa-director–level guest experience defined by warmth, personalization, and polish
  • Oversee SOPs for intake, consultation, treatment flow, and checkout
  • Ensure consistent execution of Face Reality protocols, education standards, and communication guidelines
  • Mentor clinic staff at all levels, ensuring clinical excellence and consistent client outcomes
  • Leverage client feedback and performance data to drive continuous service and experience improvements
  • Education, Training & Innovation: Operate the clinic as a training and demonstration hub for staff, Acne Experts, and visiting professionals
  • Partner with the Education team to host Clinic Immersion Programs, shadow days, and internal skill-building initiatives
  • Support marketing and business case studies, photo/video shoots, and internal training hosted at the clinic
  • Collaborate with Operations and Product Development to integrate new modalities and support clinical research initiatives
  • Ensure all staff maintain mastery of acne science, product knowledge, and treatment protocols
  • Business Ownership, KPIs & Financial Performance: Share responsibility for clinic P&L performance, including revenue growth, cost management, and margin optimization
  • Own and track key performance indicators, including: Rebooking and retention Retail attachment Membership/bootcamp adherence Treatment utilization Clear-skin rates and outcomes tracking Client acquisition and conversion
  • Support clinic-level budgeting, forecasting, labor optimization, and financial planning
  • Use data and dashboards to drive operational decisions, performance improvements, and strategic planning
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through operational efficiencies and revenue-generating initiatives
  • Strategic Partnership & Brand Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Senior Director on clinic strategy, growth initiatives, and long-term planning
  • Contribute insights from day-to-day operations to inform enterprise-level decision-making
  • Support the rollout of new services, treatment protocols, and operational improvements
  • Serve as a brand ambassador at local industry events, trainings, and partner engagements
  • Represent Face Reality with confidence and credibility, articulating acne expertise and brand values
