The Sr Manager of Accounts Receivable is responsible to oversee all aspects of end-to-end credit and collections and accounts receivables for the CooperCompanies North America entities. This role ensures timely and accurate billing, credit memos, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution, while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with company policies, driving continuous process improvements while collaborating cross-functionally to optimize working capital and customer experience.

  • Lead and manage the AR team, including hiring, training, performance management and career development.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Study and develop policies and procedures for investigating, granting, and controlling credit, as well as collecting accounts due.
  • Oversee the daily operations of billing, collections, cash application and credit management.
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively manage delinquent accounts to minimize bad debt.
  • Interface with departments such as IT, Customer Service, and Marketing to ensure effective interdepartmental communication and information sharing.
  • Investigate the credit standing of potentially large accounts, chain, and distributor accounts through credit reports or financial statement audits.
  • Approve special payment plans for slow-paying accounts as recommended by subordinate staff.
  • Accountable for the monthly KPIs performance and targets achievement.
  • Determine credit amounts to be extended and recommend working capital necessary to finance accounts receivable.
  • Represent the company in customer bankruptcy actions.
  • Supervise the adjustment of customer claims and direct specific adjustments based on staff recommendations and policy.
  • Lead and/or participate in projects, tasks, and initiatives to support current and future business operations and strategies.
  • Assist in training sales representatives on credit policies, practices, and resources for potential customer financial assistance.
  • Finalize audit reports for internal and external auditors for SOX compliance and financial audits.
  • Support month, quarter and year end close process, including reconciliation and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly cash forecast reports for the Americas and share results with the Americas Finance leadership and Treasury.
  • Ensure the department is PCI compliant.
  • Recommend and drive continuous improvements, process automation and systems enhancements to improve AR process and reports capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of credit and collection experience in a large company or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years supervising or managing an accounts receivable/collections department or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading and managing projects.
  • Experience working in a Shared Services Center business model.
  • Familiarity with accounting and SOX environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to digest complex information and communicate it logically and actionably to others.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to treat customers as partners, not just accounts.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and draw sound conclusions to determine credit lines.
  • Knowledge of accounting, commercial law, bankruptcy laws, UCC filings, and PCI compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret credit reports.
  • Starting base pay for this role is between $100,644.00 and $143,777.00 per year.
  • May include cost of living adjustments.
