The Senior Manager, Accounting will play a critical leadership role in scaling the accounting function of a rapidly growing, private-equity backed healthcare staffing organization. This role is responsible for leading key components of the month-end close process, overseeing Accounts Payable operations, strengthening internal controls, improving accounting processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional systems proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This individual will lead accounting operations, partner cross-functionally across Finance, Revenue Operations, and Payroll, and drive automation and process improvements within our ERP and financial systems. This role will supervise accounting staff and collaborate closely with offshore accounting teams to ensure high-quality, scalable processes as the organization continues to grow through organic expansion and acquisitions.

Requirements

  • CPA required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience leading components of the month-end close process
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Sage Intacct strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong systems mindset and process improvement orientation
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and approve complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability to the AP Manager to ensure strong execution of day-to-day payables operations, adherence to internal controls, and compliance with company policies.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues, discrepancies, and unusual trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual work.
  • Partner with Finance Systems and IT teams to optimize workflows within Sage Intacct and related financial systems.
  • Support the development of scalable processes, automation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Document accounting processes and strengthen internal controls as the company scales.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, including the AP manager, fostering a high-performance and accountable team culture.
  • Coordinate with offshore/shared services accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Establish clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability metrics for accounting operations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion.
  • Maintain compliance with internal control frameworks and company policies.
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of SOX-ready controls as the company scales.
  • Partner with Finance, Revenue Operations, Payroll, and Sales Operations to improve financial processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Provide accounting guidance related to revenue recognition, contract structures, and operational initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with financial analysis and process improvements across the organization.
