About The Position

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol. The Senior Management Analyst II supports the Office of Professional Compliance by leading data driven research and analysis, preparing concise reports and presentations, coordinating statewide analytic projects, and serving as a communication liaison to internal and external stakeholders. This role advances agency strategy through actionable insights on uses of control, pursuits, patrol vehicle crashes, and related discipline trends, while fostering teamwork, professional development, and a culture of ethical leadership.

Requirements

  • The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.
  • Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have a Valid Driver License.
  • Day and overnight travel is required for up to 7 or more consecutive days at a time.

Nice To Haves

  • Typing and/or data entry experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of facilitating meetings, presenting to command staff, and preparing concise reports.
  • Skill using Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Experience with law enforcement analytics, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with Use of Control reports, pursuit analysis, and complaint process reviews.
