The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This role serves as a technical leader within the maintenance team, supporting preventative maintenance programs, mentoring junior mechanics, and ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 7+ years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience, with demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems (PLC experience a plus)
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and maintenance software (CMMS experience preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead maintenance efforts when required
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50lbs
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in industrial environments
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed

  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or reliability-centered maintenance
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical and electromechanical equipment
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Lead and support maintenance activities on production equipment, utilities, and facility systems
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
  • Install, modify, and upgrade equipment and machinery as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to maintenance staff
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and external vendors as required
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
