About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled technical role responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC machines and related production equipment. This position serves as a subject-matter expert for complex equipment issues and provides technical guidance to the maintenance team to ensure reliable machine performance and minimal production downtime.   This role requires deep knowledge of CNC machine diagnostics, motion control systems, and machine geometry in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting
  • Experience troubleshooting servo systems, drives, and motion control components
  • Experience working with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Haas, or similar CNC control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience performing maintenance on high-precision CNC machining centers
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with maintenance and production teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with 5-axis machining centers or complex CNC production equipment
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with machine geometry, alignment, and spindle systems
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
  • Technical certification, apprenticeship, or associate degree in a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on CNC machines and related production equipment
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system issues
  • Independently troubleshoot servo alarms, spindle issues, and machine positioning problems
  • Troubleshoot CNC controls, drives, motors, and motion systems to restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings to diagnose equipment failures
  • Support maintenance and reliability initiatives by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective actions
  • Perform equipment rebuilds, alignment adjustments, and mechanical repairs to maintain machine accuracy and performance
  • Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and equipment modifications
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians during complex troubleshooting or repair efforts
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage
  • Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout procedures, safety standards, and company policies
  • Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient maintenance operations
