About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of facility equipment and systems. This role includes diagnosing and repairing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing issues, as well as performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. The technician maintains accurate records to comply with OSHA and regulatory standards, manages work orders and inventory, and supports a clean, hazard-free work environment. Flexibility, strong technical skills, and the ability to respond quickly to maintenance needs are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable record.
  • 6+ years of job-related experience in manufacturing setting, required.
  • Previous work experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC and Plumbing systems, required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
  • Proficient with time management.
  • Organized and cable to prioritize workload based on needs.
  • Works in a safe manner, wearing proper PPE and follows safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and workspace.
  • Able to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Mechanical background or previous maintenance experience required.
  • Familiar with parts breakdown, wiring diagrams, and able to follow troubleshooting steps.
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • The ability to furnish own basic tools. Specialty tools are provided.
  • The ability to be flexible with hours to keep facility and infrastructure running without inhibiting workflow is required.
  • The ability to think on your feet and respond quickly and effectively to work orders is needed.
  • Required to have above average mechanical / technical skills and will be required to operate a multitude of equipment and tools.
  • Ability to become certified to operate company vehicles/PIT, which includes an MVR & pass drug screening process.
  • Prolonged periods of 8 hours or more standing may be required.
  • Ability to hear sounds, buzzers, beepers and alarms, and recognize the difference between them.
  • Must be able to use hand and foot controls for equipment and PIT operation.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry for short distances up to 35 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist, sit, kneel, stoop, climb perform overhead and horizontal work.
  • Must be able to perform overhead work using PIT lift equipment, scissor lift, etc. at a height of 20 feet.
  • Must be able to be an active listener and able to communicate for prolonged periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school diploma, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works in a safe manner, wearing proper PPE and following company & safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and workspace. Able to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Maintains a wide variation of equipment and tools around the facility.
  • Responds, diagnoses, and repairs reported maintenance issues of electrical, air, and hydraulic equipment, machinery, and systems throughout the Weller facilities.
  • Assists or performs the preventative maintenance schedule of electrical, air, and hydraulic equipment, machinery, and systems throughout the Weller facilities.
  • Processes maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance and inventory control of parts consumed on work orders.
  • Maintains records to meet OSHA and state or local regulations.
  • Maintains regular attendance, which is an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
