Senior Maintenance & Reliability Manager ( Pocatello, ID or Rock Springs, WY)
About The Position
The Senior Maintenance & Reliability Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for integrating maintenance and reliability functions across Mining and Manufacturing operations. This position ensures that asset performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance are achieved through standardized processes, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration. The role oversees both tactical execution and long-term planning of maintenance and reliability programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. It also manages key personnel including the Maintenance & Reliability Data Systems Engineer and the Helm/Silica Reliability Engineer, ensuring alignment across sites and disciplines. This leader serves as the primary liaison between maintenance, reliability, production, engineering, and data systems teams, driving performance through effective asset management strategies and KPI tracking.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field.
- 10+ years in related experience and/or training
- Leadership experience in maintenance and reliability.
- Strong knowledge of JDE, asset management, and industrial operations.
- Proven leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing required, technical expertise in fertilizer manufacturing preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and initiatives.
- Must be able to show initiative and be a 'self-starter' to achieve working goals.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights to management.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in phosphate fertilizer production, ammonia, and/or sulfuric acid is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement unified maintenance and reliability strategies across all Mining & Manufacturing facilities.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs to reduce downtime and improve asset performance.
- Oversee standardization of work processes, Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS) usage, and master data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with internal/external standards, processes and procedures.
- Provide input into technical reports, projects and capital planning.
- Supervise and mentor the Helm/Silica Reliability Engineer and Data Systems Engineer.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to align maintenance & reliability with operational goals.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, driving continuous improvement and cost optimization.
