About The Position

The Impact You Will Make The Sr. Maintenance Planner/Scheduler develops, manages, communicates, and executes maintenance/project plans and master schedules to effectively utilize plant resources (material, labor, and capacity) across multiple sites. Works closely with Operations, Project Engineering, Quality, and other internal and external customers to problem solve, resolve issues and ensure that detailed maintenance activity schedules (according to the requirements of the area, project load, and maintenance activities) are met. Develops detailed plans for extensive equipment repairs and overhauls; maintains oversight of the job plan/task library within the CMMS; Responsible for standardizing maintenance plans and methods across all sites; and provides high-level resource and activity leveling. The Sr. Maintenance Planner oversees and issues informational and effectiveness reports, and job plan tasks for maintenance. Leads cross-functional projects in support of plant objectives and goals with an emphasis on lean methodology and consistency with lean principles. Works closely with all site functions to develop procedures and work practices. Acts as relief supervisor as needed to support the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in a technical or business-related field with a minimum of 7 years' experience or Associates Degree in a technical or business-related field with a minimum of 10 years' experience working within an Engineering, Maintenance, Construction or Utilities planning, scheduling, or estimation environment.
  • 10+ years related experience and/or training (degree dependent).
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Project, CMMS, Excel, and COGNOS.

Responsibilities

  • Develops detailed resource plans for maintenance work:
  • Determines labor and skills required to complete work.
  • Provides job scope and labor hours estimation.
  • Develops job planning and associated tasks necessary for completion of work.
  • Works with all teams to ensure identification, acquisition, and kitting of parts; collection of tools, documentation, and procedures to complete work requested.
  • Holds periodic meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aware of work order progress.
  • Hold review meetings to ensure completed work orders were properly executed.
  • Work closely with the Reliability team to ensure achievement of department KPIs.
  • Develops detailed schedules of upcoming work associated with future maintenance in conjunction with operations schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Assist, where required, craftsman/support teams in determining if scope changes can be completed without disrupting schedule.
  • Maintains CMMS system task library.
  • Develops job plan tasks for major equipment repairs and overhauls.
  • Provides oversight and updates to the job plan task library.
  • Ensures estimated hours within the system are maintained up to date to ensure accurate job planning and scheduling.
  • Recommends work schedules which balance and level Maintenance workloads and resources to optimize labor utilization.
  • Reviews and analyzes plant wide PM loads.
  • Maintains oversight of overall maintenance backlog to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Recommends opportunities for resource leveling to ensure work completion in the shortest amount of time.
  • Maintains the Maintenance Scheduling System.
  • Issues informational and effectiveness of reports.
  • Receives feedback from technicians on job plan (task) and schedule improvement.
  • Lead efforts with the Reliability team to review and update task plans and checklists to improve effectiveness and labor efficiency.
