Job Purpose: The essence of this role is to provide guidance as a finance expert in progressing on-going business and new initiatives of the Logistics team in functional areas of freight distribution (inbound, primary, and secondary) and warehouse management for the frozen logistics network in addition to customer operations. This role will span responsibilities of the Supply Chain Finance team to provide leadership and understanding of current logistics costs, controllership of the balance sheet, and establishing yourself as a valued business partner. In addition, the role will support the Supply Chain team on strategic work such as frozen network investments, savings, and a redesign of the supply chain network in NA as part of Ice Cream establishment as a stand alone business. The Senior Finance Manager will lead a team of one associates (WL1) in delivering the business needs, while serving as both a mentor and coach for their individual career development.

Requirements

  • A degree in accounting or a professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, etc.)
  • Prior exposure to the North America supply chain finance and ways of working Analytical thinking / problem solving ability.
  • Ability to combine multiple and different data points to draw conclusions
  • Apply systematic approach to identify and eliminate root causes
  • Sees problems through to a complete solution beyond the immediate next step Business Acumen
  • Understanding of the FMCG industry and the challenges
  • Rapidly absorbs new information, knowledge and applies new techniques, technology, and procedures IT and Communication Skills
  • Excellent level of computer literacy (incl. Excel, PowerPoint & SAP) and numeracy skills
  • Professional communication skills for all levels of the organisation Motivation and drive

Responsibilities

  • Leads improvements in delivering business predictability through a robust forecasting, reporting and controls framework
  • Plays an active role in driving for change and continuous improvement in the business and within finance; identify areas that require improvement- increasing transparency, accuracy, and reliability of information
  • Collaborates effectively with other functional finance leaders to ensure that financial processes, including forecasts, are running effectively
  • Partner with global finance colleagues on scheduled and ad hoc reporting
  • Delivers regular presentations on business performance and financial positions to senior management and business partners within other business units
  • Contribute to cross functional business teams as finance expert to help determine financial impact of projects, investments, and operational changes
  • Gather and communicate market insights for additional information about pertinent KPI’s to increase efficiencies and/or close gaps in supply chain costs
