About The Position

Join Mizuho as a Senior Loan IQ Platform Engineer! In this role you will be responsible for engineering, stability, scalability, and modernization of the Loan IQ platform, a mission critical system used to support complex lending products across the enterprise. You will bring deep technical expertise in Loan IQ, strong engineering discipline, and experience operating within a large, regulated financial institution. This role also involves providing technical guidance to other engineers, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with application vendor, business, and integration partners.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, computer science, statistics, engineering, physics or economics
10+ years of experience in platform, application, or systems engineering experience in a Financial Institution
7+ years of hands-on experience supporting Finastra Loan IQ in a production enterprise environment
Strong knowledge of Loan IQ architecture, configuration, and data model
Strong knowledge of Commercial Lending products, Agency Syndications, Loan Servicing & Loan Trading business
Hands-on experience with Loan IQ EOD batch processing, interfaces, and message-based interfaces
Experience in SDLC and Agile technologies such as Git, Jira, Confluence
Experience in attending Scrum ceremonies like Daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint retrospective meetings
Functional and technical knowledge of the Loan IQ application, Code Tables and data model
Advanced SQL skills with the ability to understand and develop complex SQL queries (Oracle DB preferred)
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex, cross-system issues
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimum supervision
A strong desire to learn and improve skills and knowledge continuously

Nice To Haves

Experience with Loan IQ APIs, SDK, or custom extensions
Experience in DevOps concepts, specifically in CI/CD
Experience in creating and grooming Jira user stories as part of medium to large scale enterprise projects with multiple dependencies
Familiarity with data conversion efforts, required testing/validations and Loan IQ Data Conversion Tool (DCT)
Experience or knowledge of Databricks or other data warehousing technologies

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior technical lead for the Loan IQ platform, providing design, engineering, and operational support
Design, build, and maintain Loan IQ environments across development, SIT, UAT and Production
Lead platform upgrades, patches, and version migrations, ensuring minimal business disruption
Develop and support integrations between Loan IQ and upstream/downstream systems (e.g. GL, Payments systems, data warehouses, reporting platforms)
Implement and maintain automation for deployments, environment builds, monitoring, and operational processes
Partner with application developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
Collaborate with Oracle DBA team to ensure optimal configuration and performance of the Loan IQ databases
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues within Loan IQ, its interfaces and related processes by performing root-cause analysis and driving permanent fixes with minimal downtime
Ensure platform compliance with security, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements
Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and documentation for the Loan IQ platform
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to Mizuho culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical business events, migrations, and releases
