About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team! What You'll Be Doing: Support the system administration for ARL high performance computers Support design of Army Research Laboratory A2I2 building for systems being delivered in 2024 and future platforms Advise in architectural tradeoffs including NVidia Grace/Hopper, ARM, AMD, and new file systems Identify open-source software tools and stacks for customer-specific and production platforms Develop and implement software instrumentation to measure and visualize the performance of various systems, sub-systems, and user jobs Serve as a subject matter expert to HPC program system administration team for research, development, and production HPC system

Requirements

  • Extensive background in diverse Linux operating systems and high performance computing
  • Extensive background in Linux tools, performance tuning, instrumentation
  • Open-source software tools, software stacks, and standards
  • Ability to work with a team of system administrators across a wide range of platforms and requirements
  • BS or MS degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
  • At least 8 years of directly related experience
  • Linux+ certification (or equivalent)
  • Security+ certification (or equivalent)
  • An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position

  • Awareness of emerging hardware/software and their capabilities
  • Ability to sustain and support aging HPC systems
  • Ability to integrate new capabilities into existing HPC systems
  • Ability to standardize software stacks to reduce complexity and cost of support
