About The Position

Purpose and Impact: Our contract supports more than 12 efforts with varying levels of hardware and software development requirements. Our projects are focused on front end equipment configuration/maintenance, back-end repositories, front end dashboards, as well as everything in between for the full data processing thread. Our teams can range from one to two developers to a team of 12. All of our teams work right alongside our customer to discuss requirements, identify solutions, and choose the way forward for implementation. As part of an engineering office, our customer and our workforce look and plan for future expectations- continuously trying to stay ahead of the next challenge. This position is for a team of three contractors that work directly with the customer to support multiple projects. The focus for this position is primarily security compliance to maintain and renew Authority to Operate (ATO) Status. This position will also ask the candidate to support projects on other needs as well: migration to new baselines, incorporating new technologies for the project application, and building/reporting for health and monitoring dashboards. Applications and baselines are operating predominantly in a virtualized architecture. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday: Normal schedule. Specific start/end times can be determine by candidate and the team for best schedule needs.

Requirements

  • 9 years or more experience as a Linux Administrator
  • 9 years of experience of bash programming
  • 7 or more years of Perl/Python programming experience
  • 7 or more years of Linux (Redhat/Centos 5 or greater) experience
  • Knowledge of web technologies (html, xml, Java2E, etc_)
  • 3 or more years of experience with virtualization
  • 3 or more years of experience with Puppet
  • TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Studies or related technical disciple from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Nine (9) years of experience is required. Four additional years of experience are required if the candidate does not have a Bachelors degree in a technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Configures and manages LINUX operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Provides support for hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
  • Configures and manages LINUX operating system and installs
  • Creates bash shell scripts to aid in system stability and deployment repeatability
  • Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
  • Provides Tier I (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning
  • Provides detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components
