On occasions, this role may be challenging. This is a highly technical design role; you’ll need to solve complex spatial and scripting problems while respecting technical constraints. Balancing the "cool factor" of a level with the reality of production schedules and performance budgets requires a pragmatic and organized mindset. As a Senior, you are a key point of contact for multiple departments, requiring excellent communication and the ability to navigate shifting priorities. Your role will be fully remote which may be sometimes challenging.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Level Design within the gaming industry.
• Shipped at least one AA+ title, ideally within the Action-RPG or Soulslike genre.
• Mastery of Unreal Engine, with strong proficiency in Blueprints and world-building tools.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of pacing, spatial layout, and player psychology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
• A deep passion for gaming and a thorough understanding of what makes a world feel immersive and rewarding to explore.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience designing for non-linear or open-world environments.
• Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software (Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender) for blockout purposes.
• A deep interest in the architectural and narrative logic of Soulslike level design.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of large-scale levels, from initial whiteboxing to final polish, ensuring a state-of-the-art player experience.
• Create compelling mission flows, encounters, and environmental puzzles that align with the game’s core mechanics and narrative pillars.
• Use environmental storytelling to build immersive worlds that feel lived-in and consistent with the project's vision.
• Implement gameplay logic and level scripting using Unreal Engine Blueprints, ensuring performance and stability across all platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Environment Art to ensure level layouts support both gameplay requirements and visual excellence.
• Partner with the Combat, Narrative, Sound and System Design teams to integrate encounters and narrative beats seamlessly into the level flow.
• Provide technical and creative guidance to junior and mid-level designers, fostering their growth and maintaining a high quality bar.
• Work as a proactive member of a cross-functional feature team, collaborating daily with other disciplines to achieve shared goals.
• Document level design standards and best practices to ensure consistency across the entire Level Design team.
