About The Position

Discovery Land Company is seeking a full-time, year-round Senior Lead Developer, Business Systems to join the Finance and Accounting Department. Discovery Land Company (DLC) is looking for a Senior Lead Developer, Business Systems to join our team. This person must be a dynamic and self-motivated data scientist / engineer / BI developer. The ideal candidate will be required to foster innovative solutions to drive continuous quality improvement across several business divisions. This person is essential to gaining better insight into business problems to be solved, formulating a data-driven approach to solve the problem, and establishing conclusions. This role will conduct full life-cycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, analytics development, and reporting capabilities. You will also be tasked to administer SaaS tools, continuously monitor performance, and notify stakeholders of issues. Top candidates must have a track record of driving results and experience working across heavily matrixed organizations to achieve outcomes. Business Intelligence and analytical insights are key to making data-driven decisions. The ability to focus on complex initiatives, extract salient intelligence from the data, and use it to impact the performance of the organization is a key role for DLC

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (15 Years)
Technical degrees and certifications a plus
3+ Years of Power BI Development and Report Delivery
10+ Years of T-SQL Coding Experience.
7+ Years of Server Management Studio (SSMS) Experience
5+ Years of Visual Studio and SQL Server Integration Studio (SSIS) Experience
MS Office Proficient
Reporting Experience to Senior-Level Management
Sage Intacct / FloQast / other SaaS experience is a plus.
Front End Development Experience a plus.
Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Build financial analytic reports for multiple DLC business divisions using Power BI.
Create tables, views, stored procedures and jobs in SQL Server.
Develop complex workflows in Visual Studio.
Act as subject matter expert on various software tools used in Workflow Automation well as evaluating Enterprise Resource Planning (Accounting & Finance specific) data.
Administer and operate various applications and database software used in data storage, transformation, development, aggregation, and visualization.
Gather business requirements from various stakeholders.
Lead the analysis of disparate data and synthesize actionable strategies.
Collaborate to build a culture which celebrates innovation that is critical to driving change across the organization.
Advise the Finance and Accounting departments on reporting best practices.
Act as a liaison between the business (finance /accounting) and IT.
Act as an application specialist providing guidance and assistance with implementing, updating, and maintaining accounting and finance related software.
