Job title: Senior / Lead Data Architect Current Need: Our Decision Intelligence (DI) team is looking for a Senior / Lead Data Architect to support key data initiatives. DI team focuses on facilitating data driven change and creating business value through data and advanced analytics. Define enterprise-wide data and semantic architecture to support AI-driven insights and automation. Able to lead Design of AI ready “Intelligent Data Platform” ensuring consistent, governed, interoperable data across McKesson's platforms and BU segments.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 7+ years' experience in data engineering and architeture
  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven Expertise: Minimum of 7+years of experience in enterprise data architecture, including data requirements collection, data architecture analysis, Enterprise data modeling, semantic layers, large-scale integration; Databricks, Snowflake, MDM, SAP, Salesforce/Conga; ability to simplify complex domains into intuitive patterns.
  • Leadership Skills: Delivery Ownership & able to guide engineering teams for successful execution and Change Champion.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop strategies that align with long-term objectives.
  • Problem Solving: Innovative and creative problem-solving skills capable of handling complex challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Data Architecture Leadership: Architect canonical data domains across customer, product, pricing, supply chain, contracts, and financial performance.
  • Design semantic layers, business ontology, subject-area models, and metrics definitions for AI agents.
  • Define principles for data interoperability, lineage, access control, multi-cloud integration.
  • Align data platform architecture with the USPD AI Roadmap.
  • Establish patterns for RAG, vector search, metadata-driven decisions, and multi-modal ingestion.
  • Provide Data & AI Architectural oversight for ongoing products like Finance, Pricing and Supply Chain Data Products, FIA, ContractIQ, and Specialty Leakage Agents.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and integrated data environment across the organization
  • Influence projects to make decisions related to data strategies including data quality, data architecture and data management best practices
  • Leverage tools and resources to plan, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives by mapping relational entities to use cases or business requirements and assisting in the development of data products
  • Architect complex data systems that support scalable integration and optimal functioning of business-critical applications.
  • Employ sophisticated design principles and tools to model data flows and structures that enhance data accessibility and utility
  • Manage creation of data design deliverables including data models, data diagrams, data flows and corresponding data dictionary documentation
