Requirements

  • Must possess an VA/MD Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License or obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have experience with plant identification and treatment of invasives species.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in lake/pond management or stormwater.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must be able to swim.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as a skiff and UTV.
  • Basic math skills for product applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients and team members.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to follow safety procedures with chemicals and equipment.
  • Must comply with company policies and values.
  • Capable of heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to walk on steep slopes and bend/stoop continuously.
  • Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks

Nice To Haves

  • Desired experience in fisheries, wildlife management, conservation, ecology, biology, environmental sciences, or forestry

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance of lakes, ponds, and associated stormwater systems.
  • Activities include: Identifying and treating invasive weeds.
  • Conducting visual inspections of pond components.
  • Mowing and weed eating sites.
  • Performing minor repairs for compliance.
  • Improving the aesthetics of the sites.
  • Ensure tasks are completed per the customer's contract and expectations, maintaining top efficiency and quality.
  • Drive and maintain a company vehicle.
  • Manage your daily schedule, take photos, and write reports.
  • Assist in training team members, with a strong focus on safety procedures.
