About The Position

We’re looking for a Sr. Manager of Maintenance & Facilities to lead maintenance strategy, facility performance, and infrastructure planning across multiple manufacturing and equipment-production sites. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys building strong teams, improving systems, and keeping operations running at peak performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of maintenance leadership experience in food manufacturing, ingredient production, industrial manufacturing, or similar environments.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site maintenance operations or large-scale facilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems.
  • Experience using CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to maintenance and facilities teams across multiple locations, including technicians, mechanics, and contractors.
  • Build and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs that maximize uptime and equipment reliability.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance activities to support high-volume blending, grinding, mixing, packaging, and equipment manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve throughput, reduce downtime, and strengthen long-term asset performance.
  • Ensure consistent maintenance coverage and troubleshooting support across multiple buildings and production environments.
  • Oversee maintenance of critical processing and production equipment, including mixers, blenders, sifters, conveyors, packaging lines, grinders, smokers, HVAC, boilers, air systems, and fabrication shop equipment.
  • Ensure building systems—utilities, refrigeration, compressed air, electrical, fire suppression, and plumbing—operate safely and efficiently across all sites.
  • Manage facility infrastructure, grounds, and building integrity, including lawn care and snow removal services.
  • Lead CAPEX initiatives such as new equipment installations, plant expansions, facility upgrades, and multi-site improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, equipment histories, compliance records, and audit readiness across all facilities.
  • Oversee maintenance and operational readiness of company vehicles, delivery trucks, and transport equipment.
  • Develop and manage fleet maintenance schedules in compliance with safety, regulatory, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, repairs, and vendor services while tracking costs, performance, and utilization.
  • Ensure adherence to company driving, safety, and asset management policies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, SQF/BRC, HACCP), OSHA requirements, and internal corporate standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections to maintain sanitation readiness, safe working conditions, and audit compliance.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to support clean, allergen-aware, audit-ready production environments.
  • Foster a strong safety culture with emphasis on LOTO, equipment guarding, and facility safety best practices.
  • Partner with Production to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with Engineering on equipment integration, process improvements, and facility expansion planning.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on spare parts strategy, vendor partnerships, and procurement efficiency.
  • Support R&D with equipment readiness for test batches, formulation trials, and prototyping.
  • Align with Leadership and HR on workforce planning, facility strategy, and long-term maintenance vision.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital plans, and cost-control initiatives across facilities and fleet operations.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, and parts procurement.
  • Track and report KPIs including downtime reduction, PM compliance, work order completion, fleet metrics, and total maintenance costs.
