The successful candidate will help drive the generation of large-scale single-cell perturbational datasets by applying functional genomics and single-cell transcriptomics approaches in close collaboration with a small, interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant research experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with standard cell culture techniques, including primary immune cell isolation and handling, maintenance of cell lines, and in vitro stimulation of immune cells
  • Proficiency in molecular biology methods such as lentiviral transduction, qPCR, Western blotting, and flow cytometry
  • Ability to perform routine bench work (e.g., pipetting, lifting) and contribute to the generation of large-scale single-cell perturbational datasets using functional genomics and single-cell transcriptomics technologies in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to be on-site, full-time in Cambridge, MA

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with pooled genetic screens in immune cells using CRISPRi, CRISPRa, or other in vitro gene-editing approaches

Responsibilities

  • Design and generate custom lentiviral libraries to support functional genomics studies
  • Maintain and scale extensive mammalian cell cultures across diverse cell lines and types
  • Produce genetically edited cell pools using lentiviral transduction and arrayed electroporation approaches
  • Develop, optimize, and customize experimental protocols to ensure success across cell types and large-scale applications
  • Generate high-quality single-cell datasets using commercial platforms, including 10x Genomics workflows
