Responsibilities Under the direction of laboratory management, is responsible for leading all aspects of operation in assigned section/team/department, including preparation and maintenance of records, reports, policies and procedures; analysis of testing methodologies, employee training/staffing, technical oversight, and compliance. Works in collaboration with team members to ensure that tasks, priorities, goals and achievements are coordinated with management. Assist with test validations, regulatory compliance, quality control/assurance, and maintenance within assigned area. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring , treating and preventing disease. Qualifications Education H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and A sufficient number of college and/or technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy the requirements for testing and certification as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency. Required Bachelor’s Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) Preferred Work Experience 3 years hospital experience Required

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and A sufficient number of college and/or technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy the requirements for testing and certification as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency.
  • 3 years hospital experience Required
  • MTA - Medical Technologist Certification through AMT or AAB. Certified according to the qualifications through the State of GA Dept of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory Regulations. AAB provisional certification not accepted.
  • MLS - Medical Lab Scientist (Formally MT Certification) through AMT or AAB. Certified according to the qualifications through the State of GA Dept of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory Regulations. AAB provisional certification not accepted.
  • Certified Medical Lab Scientist-ASCP according to the qualifications through the State of GA Dept of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory Regulations. AAB provisional certification not accepted.
  • ASCP - Medical Technologist according to the qualifications through the State of GA Dept of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory Regulations. AAB provisional certification not accepted.

Nice To Haves
