About The Position

ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to support the SCOR BAU EI Parallel Initiative with our client in Austin, TX.
The Developer will be responsible for the end-to-end development life cycle—from studying user needs and system flows to deploying robust software solutions. You will focus on enhancing the SCOR Java application, modernizing business logic, and scaling data models to meet evolving operational requirements.
Position is ONSITE/Hybrid at the Austin, TX location with some hybrid work – determined by the hiring manager. The program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position.

Requirements

• 8+ years: Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in Java.
• 8+ years: Application development on the J2EE platform.
• 8+ years: Writing complex SQL for relational databases.
• 8+ years: Developing RESTful web services using the Spring platform.
• 8+ years: Working with Spring Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) (e.g., transaction management and security).
• 8+ years: Experience with JUnit and comprehensive Unit Test development.

Nice To Haves

• 4+ years: Angular UI Framework.
• 4+ years: Crystal Reports.
• 4+ years: Power BI integration and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and install software solutions by analyzing information needs, conferring with users, and studying system flows, data usage, and work processes.
• Execute updates to SCOR Java business logic, user interface components, and system data models.
• Extend existing reporting capabilities and manage complex data model extensions.
• Support application enhancements and defect corrections in maintenance mode across multiple environments.
• Conduct rigorous coding, testing, peer reviews, and documentation. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and troubleshoot complex system issues.
• Maintain strict adherence to code coverage standards, unit testing requirements, and organizational security policies.
• Provide on-call support as needed and perform other duties as assigned to support unit operations.
