About The Position

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior ITSM Solutions Architect with an active Secret clearance to lead the end‑to-end design, integration, and optimization of IT Service Management solutions across the enterprise. This position will be located in Arlington, VA, and will be a hybrid position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Social Science with 15+ years end‑to-end design, integration, and optimization of IT Service Management solutions (or commensurate experience)
  • ITIL Foundations Certification v4
  • ITIL Expert v3 or ITIL v4 Managing Professional
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.
  • Proven experience as an ITSM Solutions Architect, IT Operations Manager, or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of ITSM frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., ITIL).
  • Strong understanding of ITSM tools and technologies, specifically ServiceNow
  • Proficiency in, or understanding of, system integration and automation using APIs, scripting languages, or workflow engines.
  • Experience in developing and implementing ITIL processes
  • Experience in defining business and IT services
  • Visionary and thought leader who leads the organization towards continued excellence
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to lead and deliver projects within scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Familiarity with IT security principles, compliance standards, and data privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Engages with stakeholders to capture business and technical requirements, mapping current‑state ITSM processes, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, and developing future‑state architectures that improve the reliability, efficiency, and consistency of service delivery.
  • Evaluates and recommends ITSM frameworks, automation opportunities, and tool integrations, including but not limited to ServiceNow, ScienceLogic, SCCM, and Qualys, to create a cohesive, modernized service management environment.
  • Develops detailed architectural artifacts, process models, configuration standards, and integration strategies to align ITSM tools with operational needs.
  • Collaborates with engineering teams to oversee solution implementation, validates functional and technical designs, ensures alignment with enterprise architecture principles, and provides expert troubleshooting for complex ITSM issues.
  • Defines KPIs and reporting mechanisms.
  • Supports audits and compliance reviews.
  • Advises leadership on ITSM maturity and transformation roadmaps, and serves as a senior advisor for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentors technical teams.
  • Guides configuration and workflow design.
  • Supports change management efforts to ensure the adoption and long‑term success of ITSM enhancements.
