The Senior Investment Analyst position is a key foundational role on the Internal Fixed Income (IFI) team. The incumbent will collaborate with all members of the team, and gain broad exposure to all the strategies that comprise the IFI program, both internally managed and externally managed portfolios. In addition to regularly occurring program level responsibilities, this individual may also be tasked with ad hoc research projects. While an important contributor to the overall management of the fixed income program generally, this individual will be primarily responsible for: • Assist in the management of the securitized portfolio, composed of agency and non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), consumer and commercial asset-backed securities (ABS), and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) • Collateral analysis and valuation of agency MBS, ABS, CMBS, and RMBS deals; compare deals across securitized sectors • Maintain a database of relevant risk and valuation metrics • Develop scenario analysis to stress test current portfolio holdings and potential new purchases • Utilize available data to build prepayment, delinquency, and loss projection curves Continued education and training are highly encouraged for the continued development of knowledge and skills, including but not limited to obtaining a CFA charter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, statistics, finance, or related field required; advanced degree in a technical field, preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
  • 0-2+ years’ experience in data analysis, academic experience may also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience and strong comfortability with statistics and/or mathematics
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting large datasets to support decision making
  • Proficiency in Excel, Python and/or SQL
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continued learning
  • Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Integrity and respect towards their work, themselves, and others
  • Desire to work with a small, close-knit, high performing team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with securitized products, preferred
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Blackrock’s Aladdin, and/or other securitized related software, preferred
