As a Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of inventory-related financial data, with a focus on Stock Ledger activity, system health, and month-end close processes. You will lead the execution of key operational tasks including data flow validation, exception management, and recurring job monitoring, while supporting internal control requirements and financial accuracy. This role requires strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities, as you will identify and resolve discrepancies, partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues, and propose improvements to enhance process efficiency and automation. As Target explores modernization of its legacy inventory systems, you will serve as a key subject matter expert in understanding the current-state environment and preparing for future transformation. This role blends tactical accuracy with strategic opportunity, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and partnering across teams to strengthen enterprise outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, information systems, business analytics, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in inventory accounting, systems support, or financial operations.
  • Proven experience with large-scale financial systems and comfort navigating complex data flows; experience with legacy systems and/or ERP transitions preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to connect data patterns to process drivers.
  • Experience executing or supporting month-end close processes and internal control environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with partners across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.
  • Strong initiative and self-direction in ambiguous or evolving environments.
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting and SOX requirements is preferred.
