Sr. Inventory Accountant We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Accountant to manage and ensure the accuracy of inventory-related financial records. This role is critical in maintaining inventory integrity, supporting cost accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid accounting foundation, and experience working with inventory in a manufacturing, distribution, or retail environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience with a focus on inventory
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and cost accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, analysis)
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments
- Knowledge of standard costing and inventory controls
- Experience supporting audits

- CPA or CPA-eligible, preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records in accordance with GAAP
- Perform inventory reconciliations between sub-ledgers and the general ledger
- Analyze inventory valuation and reserves
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory
- Prepare and review journal entries for inventory transactions
- Coordinate and support physical inventory counts and cycle counts
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Internal Audit teams to monitor obsolescence and improve inventory controls
- Assist with internal and external audits related to inventory
- Support process improvements and system enhancements related to inventory accounting
