About The Position

As a Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide the United States Space Force (USSF) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for the Digital Bloodhound program by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong hardware focus to lead the evaluation, selection, and lifecycle management of hardware components across our product ecosystem. This role will serve as the authoritative expert on all hardware used within our systems—its capabilities, performance characteristics, constraints, and integration points. The ideal candidate is passionate about hardware platforms, understands how hardware decisions impact system performance and mission outcomes, and can drive a well-defined, forward-leaning hardware baseline for our products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of hardware engineering or hardware-focused systems engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of compute hardware, network equipment, storage systems, and peripheral devices
  • Experience developing and maintaining hardware baselines or platform configurations
  • Hands-on experience with integration labs, test environments, or operational hardware deployments
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for hardware capabilities and constraints, guiding engineering, testing, and operations teams.
  • Support system integration and test environments (TIEs) by validating hardware/software interoperability.
  • Experience with Dell OpenManage
  • Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
  • Active Secret security clearance with ability obtain and maintain a Top Secret

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD, Space Force, or other federal programs
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines, virtualization platforms, containerized environments, and hybrid compute architectures
  • Knowledge of hardware-relevant cybersecurity concepts (e.g., firmware security, supply-chain risk management, hardware hardening)
  • Experience with requirements management tools (Jira, GitLab, DOORS, Confluence)
  • Vendor-specific certifications (Dell, HP, Cisco, Juniper, etc.) are a strong plus
