Senior Infrastructure Architect
About The Position
The Device Services (DS) Infrastructure team is seeking a senior-level technical leader to define and drive the future of our device lab infrastructure at Apple. We manage a fleet of thousands of Apple devices used in a centralized, automated test system which is a critical tool used by engineers developing Apple's software, and we are developing new facilities to support our evolving needs. This role requires a strategic thinker and technical expert who can operate at both the executive and hands-on operational levels. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive infrastructure strategies that span physical facilities, software systems, operational processes, and partner integrations. You will work with leadership, software engineering, lab engineering, and partner teams to design and deliver purpose-built lab environments that fundamentally improve how we support the engineering process across Apple.We are looking for an experienced infrastructure architect who thrives on solving complex, multifaceted challenges that span technology, operations, and business strategy. You must enjoy working on multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment that fosters growth, teamwork and innovation. This role combines strategic planning, executive communication, technical design, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Experience with device lab operations, test automation infrastructure, or hardware validation environments
- Background in both software engineering and physical infrastructure design
- Track record of delivering innovative solutions specific to complex technical environments
- Experience with Apple platforms
- Understanding of power efficiency, space optimization, and sustainability in data center or lab environments
- Knowledge of physical and logical security best practices for lab environments
- Experience with cost modeling and optimization for infrastructure operations
- Familiarity with continuous integration systems and testing frameworks
- Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detailArray
