As a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will lead advanced RMF strategy, security authorization planning, and enterprise‑level compliance for mission‑critical systems. This role provides authoritative expertise, directs high‑impact RMF initiatives, and shapes the long-term security posture across the system.

Requirements

  • Previous ISSO or similar DoD cybersecurity experience supporting a CCMD-level customer.
  • Experience requirements based on education: 12 years with BA/BS, or 10 years with MS/MA, or 7 years with PhD, or 14 years with AS/AA, or 16 years without a degree.
  • DoD 8140 alignment for WRC 462, Control Systems Security Specialist (Advanced), or ability to obtain.
  • DoD IA baseline certification for ADP‑III/IT‑III and applicable OS/CE certification within six months.
  • An active TS/SCI is required

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior technical and management leadership for all RMF support activities and enterprise security authorization strategy.
  • Direct the design, implementation, and integration of advanced RMF processes within acquisition and systems engineering lifecycles.
  • Apply expert-level knowledge of cybersecurity, systems, and RMF to drive the development of SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and full Authorization Packages.
  • Lead efforts to successfully obtain IATTs, ATOs, and ATCs for information systems.
  • Advise senior Government leadership, negotiate requirements, and influence strategic resource allocation for RMF and compliance initiatives.
  • Establish and guide RMF methodologies, tooling, and architectural principles across all systems.
  • Oversee RMF teams, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and mission-aligned security authorization work.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on security control assessments and control effectiveness.
  • Research evolving threats and recommend advanced mitigation strategies aligned with standards from NIST, CISA, MITRE, SANS, and ISACA.
  • Support CORA, IG inspections, and other formal audits and investigations.
  • Assist with implementation of system controls (NIST SP 800‑39/47), STIG assessments (NIST SP 800‑128/216), and facility security validation.
  • Use advanced RMF and cybersecurity toolsets including eMASS, Xacta, Archer GRC, STIG Viewer, SCAP, Nessus/Qualys, Splunk, Elastic, TACLANE devices, PKI systems, and compliance reporting utilities aligned with NIST SP 800‑53 and DoD RMF.
