About The Position

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol. The Sr. ISA Business Analyst position will be responsible for the evaluation of current Motorist Systems and make any updates for legislative WRAPs and change request for Motorist Modernization and/or Operations. This position will support the IT organization as well as expertise in the business support units they support. This position is required to have a strategic focus and act as a primary liaison between FLHSMV members, the tax collector community and other stakeholders to provide business information that will be transformed into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Five years of motorist application software and/or processes experience
  • Strong knowledge of Blueprint procedures and functionality, including the ability to understand, evaluate and write actionable user stories, document acceptance criteria and business requirements, create mockups and wireframes to show the usability and functionality of the application when required
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to facilitate medium to large groups of people at various organizational levels for the purposes of planning, problem solving, or strategy development.
  • Ability to evaluate IT systems and business processes
  • Excellent knowledge of the systems and capabilities of the IT organization as well as expertise in the business support units they support
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Excellent at organizing, verbal and written communication, teaching and presentations
  • Proven leader with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to applicants with professional experience working as Business Analyst in a local, state or federal agency.
  • Preference will be given to applicants that have professional experience presenting system specifications and design information.

Responsibilities

  • evaluation of current Motorist Systems and make any updates for legislative WRAPs and change request for Motorist Modernization and/or Operations

  • Assist the Jr. level Business Analyst and the Enterprise Planning Consultants as needed
