About The Position

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Senior Industrial Water Engineer with knowledge of wastewater engineering and experience to evaluate, plan, and design industrial water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Additionally, this person will work closely with clients to deliver projects and develop and grow accounts in the energy market. This position will primarily support Brown and Caldwell's Energy Market Area team, but there will also be opportunities to support Brown and Caldwell's other industrial markets. The work we do is interesting, challenging, and wide-ranging in nature, and so is our client base Detailed Description: This position will be located in Houston, Texas and will provide process engineering and project delivery on a variety of industrial water and wastewater treatment planning, evaluation, and design projects. Work will include water resources planning, process evaluation, water and wastewater treatment, and water recycling facilities throughout US. Additionally, this position will involve client management and development, as well as mentoring of BC's rising professionals.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, etc.) or related field required. M.S. degree is preferred
  • PE license preferred
  • 15 years or more of experience
  • Refinery wastewater experience
  • Project management and/or design management experience
  • High level of Emotional Intelligence
  • Can-do approach - Pragmatic and enthusiastic - Proactive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Capable of understanding and applying technologies commonly used in this sector.
  • Demonstrated team player and builder.
  • Demonstrates expert critical thinking, accountability, collaboration, communication, self-discipline, self-development, conflict resolution and adaptability/flexibility skills
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct wastewater alternatives evaluations.
  • Develop design calculations for selected wastewater treatment processes.
  • Work with project teams to develop industrial wastewater designs.
  • Provide project quality assurance and quality control reviews.
  • Lead and create sustainable business development and delivery capabilities for the energy sector
  • Establish industry leadership for Brown and Caldwell services among the energy sector
  • Develop personal relationships with target client's key personnel, and in areas of sector growth
  • Maintain exceptional client relationships while navigating and aligning the client's organization with BC's team of experts and resources
  • Serve as a key leader in client organization associations, and professional engineering circles
  • Lead project delivery and execution projects as needed.
  • Lead or support strategic planning efforts that help our clients shape or revise their utility-wide objectives and connect them to capital planning decisions and implementation.
  • Provide technical support to sales tasks for treatment facilities and process improvements.
  • Interface with engineering disciplines, departments, and other offices to develop and deliver a seamless design for a full functioning system.
  • Preparation/review of engineering reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
  • Delivers the BC experience to employees by providing guidance and coaching to junior staff and ensuring timely/meaningful feedback is given to support career development and progression
  • Build and sustain a collaborative culture and environment that truly demonstrates client service, technology, innovation, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Lead and contribute to the firm's marketing, sales and overall business success.
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas to make decisions and solve problems
