About The Position

Terracon is seeking a Senior Industrial Hygienist to join our Asheville, North Carolina environmental department to lead and participate in the Asbestos, Mold, Lead, and Industrial Hygiene practice. General Responsibilities: Investigate sites to identify any physical or environmental risks. Perform field studies including airborne chemical monitoring, noise monitoring, indoor air quality, asbestos surveys and Phase I preliminary site assessments. Develop sampling strategies and outline required analysis. Research regulatory standards and hazard data. Evaluate sampling results. Prepare risk assessment reports and develop recommendations to correct and improve the environment. Present and communicate findings and report recommendations to clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related science field.
• Minimum 8-11 years' experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
• Have an active NC DHHS Asbestos certification
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred or PhD preferred.
• Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company.
• Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
• Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
• Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
• Senior level industrial hygiene professional responsible for leading complex projects requiring innovative investigation techniques.
• Supervise the analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports.
• Assist in establishing and updating current policies/ procedures for technical projects in field of expertise, to ensure proper interpretation and implementation by subordinate staff.
• Provide technical direction and training to less experience professional staff.
• Participate in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.
• Serves as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
